Sustainability Practice Group

Sustainable Design and Green Building are among of the fastest growing areas of the construction industry, and with good reason. In California, Governor Schwarzenegger’s Green Building Initiative has inspired the adoption of green-building practices into State and local building codes. Indeed, Title 24 arguably stands as the most progressive energy-efficiency standard for buildings in the nation. Green Building proponents are just as effective at a local level too, where counties and cities are actively setting up their own Green Building requirements. The Green Building Practice Group keeps a close watch on this ever-changing industry by tracking Green construction methods, and new legislation focused on promoting sustainable development.

Aside from maintaining a constant watch on the Green construction industry, the practice group is a contributor to the Green Building community. The Green Building Practice Group is responsible for a regular column called the Green Corner in the BR&H newsletter providing useful Green Building information to our clients and the legal community. Also, Sarah Grilli occasionally contributes to the California Green Building Blog.

The Sustainability Practice Group reflects Bell, Rosenberg & Hughes’s unwavering commitment to not only represent the construction industry, but also stay ahead of the most recent developments in the industry and law.

Join a lively discussion about green building at the California Green Building Blog, a timely green-news site hosted by California attorney and sustainability advocate Steve Sacks.
