Experience

John Banister has represented developers, owners, contractors and subcontractors in construction matters and insurance disputes. John’s practice also includes representing clients in complex coverage litigation against insurance companies including claims involving business disputes, construction defects, construction claims and bad faith. John has been affiliated with many significant projects over the past 20 years, including the Ernest Gallo Clinic and Research Center, the San Jose Tech Museum, the Santa Clara Hall of Justice, Santa Clara County Light Rail System, Sunnyvale Public Library, and IMAAC Drum Reconditioning Facility.

John regularly advises clients on all issues of insurance policy interpretation and coverage including questions regarding additional insured and indemnity status. John also monitors underlying construction defect litigation on behalf of developers and general contractors.
